1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Jake Rogers trading as PetShimmy (“PetShimmy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you visit our website, upload pet media, buy a video, receive a result, or contact support.
Jake Rogers trading as PetShimmy is the controller responsible for deciding how personal information is used for the service. Our serviceable business address is Lytchett House, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FA, United Kingdom. A purchaser normally downloads a gift video and sends it independently, so we do not receive recipient details unless the recipient later contacts us or uses an order link the purchaser chose to share.
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following information:
- Order and contact details: email address, order reference, purchased video specification, optional pet name, and support messages.
- Media: the pet photo you upload, processing versions needed to create the video, and the generated video.
- Payment records: payment status, amount, currency, and a processor reference. PetShimmy does not receive or store your full card number.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device details, timestamps, security events, and service logs needed to operate and protect the product.
- Choices and confirmations: optional pet name, age-of-majority confirmation, rights and terms acceptance, immediate-supply consent, privacy requests, and any separate consent you choose to give.
3. Why we use it
We use information to:
- check an upload and create the video you requested;
- process a one-time order and confirm payment status;
- send a secure result link and service messages;
- provide a quality retry, refund, deletion, or support;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised media access;
- diagnose failures and improve service reliability; and
- meet tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory obligations.
Depending on where you live, our legal basis may be performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing the service, compliance with law, or consent where consent is required.
4. Payments and service providers
The main service providers and their roles at launch are:
- Stripe handles card checkout, payment, tax, and fraud signals under Stripe’s own privacy terms. PetShimmy does not receive or store your full card number.
- Vercel hosts the website and server functions and stores source photos and generated videos in private Vercel Blob storage after PetShimmy receives them.
- Neon hosts the database records needed for orders, delivery status, consent evidence, refunds, security, and retention operations.
- Replicate and DreamActor process a transient normalized copy of the source image and PetShimmy’s licensed silent motion reference when a purchased video is generated after payment. The paired soundtrack is not sent to Replicate; PetShimmy adds the exact licensed audio companion from the selected dance after validating the generated video. Replicate’s API removes prediction inputs, outputs, and logs after one hour by default. PetShimmy promptly copies the generated file into private Vercel Blob storage and does not use the provider URL for customer delivery.
- Resend sends transactional order and secure result-link emails.
These providers may receive the limited information needed for their role. Their own systems, subprocessors, and legally required retention can differ from PetShimmy’s first-party media window.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share a pet photo or generated video with advertisers or publish it in an example gallery without separate permission.
5. Media retention and deletion
Abandoned uploads: an upload that is not tied to a completed purchase or active generation becomes eligible for automatic deletion 24 hours after upload.
Purchased orders: source photos, processing copies, and generated videos become eligible for automatic deletion 30 days after they are attached to a paid video in PetShimmy’s private storage. An hourly deletion job removes eligible media and retries temporary storage failures. Download your result before that window ends.
Generation-provider transfer: during generation, a transient normalized source copy and a licensed PetShimmy motion reference will be sent to DreamActor through Replicate during generation. Replicate’s API removes prediction inputs, outputs, and logs after one hour by default. We copy the generated file promptly to private Vercel Blob storage; the first-party copy then follows the 30-day window above.
You can request earlier deletion by emailing support@petshimmy.app. Deleting media while an order is processing may prevent us from finishing or retrying it, so we will explain the effect before acting where possible.
Order, tax, fraud-prevention, and support records may be kept separately for longer where reasonably needed or legally required. Those records do not include the source photo or generated video after the media-deletion window.
6. PetShimmy does not reuse media for model training
PetShimmy does not reuse your uploaded photo or generated video to train, fine-tune, or build our own AI model unless you first give separate, affirmative consent for that specific use.
Buying a PetShimmy, accepting these terms, or uploading a photo is not consent for PetShimmy to reuse media for model training. Generation still requires transient processing by Replicate and DreamActor under their provider terms and systems, whose legally required retention and downstream practices can differ from ours. Refusing any future optional PetShimmy training request would not reduce the service you purchased.
7. Sharing and international processing
Providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where law requires it, we use contractual or other recognised safeguards for international transfers.
We may also disclose limited information when required by law, to protect a person’s safety or rights, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection measures.
9. Security
We use access controls, private storage, encrypted connections, limited-access result links, and operational monitoring designed to protect information. No internet service can promise absolute security.
Keep your result link private. If you believe a link or order has been exposed, contact us so we can investigate and, where appropriate, replace access.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information; object to certain uses; withdraw consent; or complain to a data-protection authority.
To make a request, email support@petshimmy.app. We may need to verify that you control the order email or result link. We will not ask for more information than reasonably needed to verify and complete the request.
11. Age requirement
PetShimmy is an 18+ service. You must also have reached the legal age of majority where you live. If you believe a person below that age has provided personal information, email us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will receive additional notice where required.
